Cozylicious Hot Cocoa Recipes

Hello there! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and Valentine’s Day! It was sooo cold here in Columbus that we ended up canceling our Valentine’s dinner and stayed in. I was not mad about it actually… I love a good cozy weekend in. I hope if it was as cold where you live that you were nice and cozy too. Cozying up is actually the thing that I like about winter and I’m pretty sure I’ve come to dominate the art of cozy. There’s no comfort like gripping a warm mug, cuddling with my hubby, a warm fuzzy blanket and a good Netflix binge! Done and done.

Winter, you’ve been owned.

If you’re lacking in the getting cozy department you’ve come to right place, I’m your gal. We WILL get you cozy by the time we’re done here. It starts with the perfect warm cup of Starbucks® hot cocoa. While Starbucks® coffee is my morning bev of choice, at night I love to pop in a hot cocoa k-cup® and partake in afore mentioned activities. I really love that I can enjoy it without leaving home now that I can get in the grocery store.

With Polar Vortex part 3 happening this past weekend, I had fun playing around with new hot cocoa concoctions and want to share the yummy recipes with you! The Starbucks® Hot Cocoa is the key ingredient here, accept no substitutes people. It’s made with REAL cocoa and non-fat milk which makes every sip a taste of rich, creamy, chocolaty comfort. It comes in Classic and my favorite, Salted Caramel… I love a little savory in my cocoa.

S’mores Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

1 Starbucks® Classic Hot Cocoa K-cup®, brewed
1 tablespoon graham cracker crumbs
1 tablespoon Chocolate sauce
Marshamallows

Directions

Add chocolate sauce and graham cracker crumbs into 2 separate shallow dishes.
Dip rim of coffee mug in chocolate sauce, followed by graham cracker crumbs.

Pour hot cocoa into mug and add marshmallow.

Coconut Almond Candy Bar Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

1 Starbucks® Classic Hot Cocoa K-cup®, brewed
¼ teaspoon almond extract
¼ teaspoon coconut extract
Whipped cream
Crushed almonds

Directions

Add almond and coconut extracts to hot cocoa.
Top with whipped cream and crushed almonds.

Salted Caramel Mocha

Ingredients

1 Starbucks® Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa K-cup®, brewed
1 shot espresso
Whipped cream
Salted Caramel sauce
½ teaspoon sugar in the raw and ½ teaspoon of sea salt, mixed together

Directions

Add espresso to Hot Cocoa and mix.
Top with whipped cream, caramel sauce and sugar/salt sprinkles.

Peppermint Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

1 Starbucks® Classic Hot Cocoa K-cup®, brewed
Candy cane
Marshmallows and crushed peppermints

Directions

Add candy cane to Hot Cocoa, it will flavor the cocoa as it melts.
Top with marshmallows and crushed peppermint.

Rocky Road Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

1 Starbucks® Classic Hot Cocoa K-cup®, brewed
1 large marshmallow, coated in chocolate syrup and crushed peanuts

Directions

Add chocolate sauce and crushed peanuts into 2 separate shallow dishes.
Coat marshmallow with chocolate syrup, followed by rolling in crushed peanuts.

Add to Hot Cocoa.

Double Chocolate Hazelnut Mocha

Ingredients

1 Starbucks® Classic Hot Cocoa K-cup®, brewed
1 shot espresso
1 tablespoon Hazelnut syrup
Whipped cream
Chocolate syrup

Directions

Add espresso and Hazelnut syrup to Hot Cocoa.
Top with whipped cream and chocolate syrup.
