DIY Valentine’s Day Hoop Wreath with Wood Slices
Supplies
- 14″ embroidery hoop
- Wood slices
- Embroidery Hoop with Wood Slices
- 2 large English Roses and some cut off’s from these pink English Rose stems and some greenery
- Glue gun
- Industrial adhesive
- Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore Air 2
- XOXO letters cut with a Cricut or stickers
- Cricut Light Pink Metallic Adhesive Foil
Directions
Start with a stripped embroidery hoop wreath with wood slices. If you haven’t created one of these with me yet, you can find the tutorial here.
Cut branches off of greenery and flower heads off of stems (leave about an inch of stem to insert into the embroidery hoop).
Add a couple of greenery stems to the embroidery hoop with hot glue.
Slightly loosen the clamp of the embroidery hoop and insert the stems of the larger roses in between the 2 hoops. Tighten clamp to secure stems.
Add additional small blooms around the large flowers with hot glue.
Design XOXO in Cricut Design Space and cut letters in material of your choice (or use large stickers). The Cricut makes it so easy to switch out the letters each season!( If you don’t have a Cricut, you can use another cutting machine or large stickers). Apply letters to wood slices.
Hang your Valentine’s Day Hoop Wreath with a ribbon or wreath hanger.

I cannot see how to attach the wood slices to the hoop – adhesive or glue gun?

Sometimes simple but elegant has the most beauty! The combination of the wood with the flowers, the colors and the super sweet and single die cut accents of love is just perfect! Love it!
Lydia says
Thanks so much Samantha! 🙂

I think that is very creative and beautiful! For Spring you can do the pictures instead of letters. Sun, flowers, rain and birds. All things associated with Spring!

What a fun idea, Patricia! Thank you so much! 🙂
