These Glittery Icicle DIY Candle Holders are beautiful decorations that are perfect for the holidays and beyond!
Hello there and HAPPY NEW YEAR my friends! I hope you had a wonderful holiday and that your new year is full of blessings and good health. I am so grateful to have you as blog friends, thank you for being here!
So tell me, do you usually take down your Christmas decorations immediately or do you wait until New Years? We usually take everything down on January 1st and it always feels kind of sad and bare with all of the festive decor put away. Especially as a blogger, I’m so immersed in Christmas decorating and creating that come January I kind of forget what to do and make!
What is your decor style/theme between the holidays and spring? I’d love some more ideas!
As much as I’d love it to be spring (spring weather, really), it’s still awhile away and so it’s too soon to get those decorations out yet and I don’t really do too much for Valentine’s Day. I’m loving these glitter icicle DIY candle holders as decorations that transcend Christmas and are perfect to use all winter and beyond, really.
DIY Glitter Icicle Candle Holders
- Assorted glass vases/candle holders
- Paint brush
- Fine glitter
- Tea lights
Video and step by step tutorial below.
Paint decoupage glue onto the vases in a drip-like pattern.
Quickly sprinkle assorted color glitter over wet decoupage. If you want more pronounced, dramatic icicles, you can lightly dip the rim of the candle holders into decoupage (pour a small amount of decoupage into a shallow bowl) and flip the candle holder upside down.
Fill vases with sand, add a tea light and light! The way the light flickers and glistens through the glitter is breathtaking… I’m excited to make more of these icicle DIY candle holders and play with different colors of glitter. These would make great gifts, too!
What do you think of these icicle candle holders as transitional winter decor? What colors of glitter would you use?
