At this time of year, especially with these sub-zero temperatures, I would be perfectly content to cozy up with Ry and Tootie and wait out the Polar Vortex. Or Arctic Blast. Or whatever they’re calling it this year. One benefit of living in a cold climate (I’m trying really hard right about now to think of any benefits!)is getting to experience the joy and comfort of warmth. Although warmth in temperature is not in near sight, there are other warm comforts that can evoke the same warm fuzzy feelings. These Winter gift ideas would make great housewarming, hostess or ‘sorry we live in this Wintry mess’ gifts. 😉
Cozy Throw Blanket
It may be Captain Obvious, but nonetheless, a cozy throw blanket makes an excellent Winter gift. Throws are not only functional (and absolutely necessary right now in Ohio), they also act as lovely decor (once you master that perfectly messy draped throw on the couch). Anytime I see a cable knit throw like this one I always feel like it is screaming my name to cuddle in it! Bonus points if you gift it in this sweater throw basket!
Movie Night In
I don’t know what it is about freezing temperatures but they give me the urge to watch movies on the couch and eat popcorn. The only time of the year I ever even think of popcorn, truly. A bag of popcorn, a netflix or Amazon gift card and a personalized popcorn bowl (DIY or buy one!) make a fun gift and hibernation supplies for cuddling up in that cable knit throw.
Warm Mulled Wine
I love the idea of wrapping a bottle of red wine in these cozy looking DIY sweater sleeve wine gift bags by That’s What Che Said. Add a bottle of Williams Sonoma Mulling Spices, a Mesh Mulling Spice Infuser along with this amazing Mulled Wine Recipe recipe by the View from Great Island for a perfect dinner party hostess gift.

Portable Fireplace
Woodwick Candles are a great substitute fireplaces for the giftee without the real thing (buy or DIY one!) As they burn, they make a lovely crackling sound that makes you feel like you’re curled up by a wood burning fire, but with more scent options than burning wood.
Grown up hot cocoa
How cute is this grown up hot chocolate by Good n You?! Everyone loves a gift in a mason jar, and this one has all the makings for a warm hot cocoa with an adult kick.
Tea time
There’s something so comforting about gripping a warm mug of tea (especially when swaddled in these DIY Mug Cozies). Add some tea, (I love Stash!) to the cozy mug for an afternoon tea gift.

I’d love to get any one of these great gifts, but I’ve got a special hankering for that throw <3 Thanks for the shout out!
