I don’t know about you, but when I hear “wallpaper” it takes me back to my Grandma’s house. Every room was wallpapered. Every wall. Wallpaper was where it’s at and I understand why; there are patterns, a variety of colors and can be expressive of someone’s personality. That certainly was true in my grandma’s house.
I’m not exactly sure when/why wallpaper started to become not as popular but I’m convinced it was because it was MISERABLE to remove! I remember standing on a ladder with a spray bottle (to wet and loosen the wallpaper and adhesive) and a putty knife trying to scrape off some dated wallpaper in our house when I was in 7th grade. It wasn’t budging. I accidentally dropped the putty knife and the corner of it sliced my hand wide open. That was the first time I ever fainted. That was also the time I decided I would never hang wallpaper in any home of mine.
Well as they say, never say never.
You guys, you have to check out Walls Need Love; it is not your grandma’s wallpaper! I recently discovered this innovative décor company and my only dilemma is trying to narrow down what styles to get for the many projects I have in mind to use it! They have loads of beautiful, fun and whimsical designs of wallpaper, decals, murals and much more. The best part is that it is all self-adhesive, removable AND repositionable! Hallelujah!
These are some of my favorite picks from their blog and Instagram.
I love the Palm Removable Wallpaper that The Chronicles of Home used in her guest room. And btw can you believe she DIYed the headboard trim?!
I love the farmhouse style that the White Washed Brick Removable Wall Mural brought to Thistlewood Farms’ kitchen. Would you have ever guessed that it’s not real brick? Not me.
Have you guys ever tried to paint stripes on a wall? I did. #Fail. The tape ended up not being straight and when I pulled up the painter’s tape part of the paint from the stripe peeled off. It ended up getting covered with my existing wall paint color. However even I could definetly pull off a stripe wall with these Easy Stripe Wall Decals. If they’re not straight, you can just move ’em! How beautiful is this grid accent wall that Making Home Base did for her bedroom?! (Along with the rest of her bedroom!)
I have major wall envy of this DIY Confetti Wall by Lovely Indeed. I think I need to get these Gold Polka Dot Decals for my office refresh.
A Chalkboard Calendar Wall Decal; what a great idea!
This Blind Faith wall decal is one of my all time favorite quotes. There are many more quotes, monograms, trim, etc. wall decals on the website.
Have your thoughts on wallpaper totally changed now like mine? I’d love to hear what some of your favorite designs are!
