Make a beautiful rainbow picture frame with a special sentiment at the bottom. This would make a perfect gift idea for someone who has a special rainbow baby in their lives or to display a photo of anyone special.
Rainbows have always made me happy and the symbolism they hold makes them extra special. I even made a rainbow pumpkin (not really Halloween-y at all but I love it). My elementary school motto was “friends are like rainbows” and I couldn’t agree more. Do you have or do you know a rainbow baby? This is a perfect rainbow baby gift idea! This rainbow picture frame would be the perfect way to display and honor the tiny miracle’s photo. Or to display a photo of anyone for that matter.

Supplies
- Rainbow Picture Frame cut file
- Cricut Maker
- Knife blade
- Basswood
- Strong grip cutting mat
- Masking tape
- Wood plank sign
- Everyday Iron-on in Pink, Melon, Sky, Mint and Lilac
- EasyPress or iron and mat
- Small foam adhesive mounting squares
- Heat resistant tape
- Grey Permanent Vinyl
- Transfer tape
Directions
If your wood sign is unfinished, paint with a coat of white chalk paint and allow to dry overnight.
Open the rainbow frame cut file and customize as needed. Measure and cut iron-on for each of the rainbow colors. With the shiny side up, place iron-on onto the basswood and secure the edges with heat resistant tape. No weeding the iron-on! Press according to Cricut’s Heat Guide and cold peel.
Load the basswood with iron-on onto a strong grip mat and secure the 4 sides with masking tape. Load the knife blade into the Cricut Maker and move the star wheels all the way to the right.
Select Basswood for the cutting material and cut. Repeat with each color of the rainbow.
Apply foam mounting squares onto the back of each rainbow piece and attach to the top of the wood sign.
Cut the wording out of permanent vinyl and weed. Apply wording to the bottom of the rainbow frame with transfer tape.
Hang picture with double-sided tape or attach a decorative clip to hang the photo from the rainbow picture frame.
