I always loved crafting and creating when I was younger, but as I got older and more focused on adulting (work, obligations, responsibilities, you know, all that fun stuff), I lost sight of this fun hobby that I’d always loved so much. After a major injury a few years ago, I got back in touch with creating thanks to Pinterest and my dear friend Maria who would keep me company during my recovery with weekly craft time. Now I spend much of my “free” time creating and it feeds my soul! I love that I can use this little blog as an “excuse” to create. 😉 I found another great excuse to create and have a party (another one of my favorite things to do!) by recently having a crafternoon tea party. Just like it sounds, this was an afternoon spent crafting while sipping on teas and noshing on yummy snacks with a bunch of fun people.
For my crafternoon tea party, I set up stations with craft supplies so that my guests could choose what craft they’d like to make. I had wine corks, lavender sprigs, magnets, paint and paint brushes, a variety of glass vases, dollar store coasters to redesign and scrapbook paper. My girls got their craft on! There were decorated/painted wine corks made into magnets, beautiful painted vases and DIY coasters. Obviously any type of craft would work, its the friends, food and drink that make the fun!
This crafternoon was not your grandmother’s tea party. I had 2 of Lipton’s new herbal teas, iced, in the bold flavors Berry Hibiscus and Peach Mango. The Berry Hibiscus Iced Tea was served with frozen blueberries in lieu of ice cubes and I made Peach Mango Tea Mimosas (equal parts Peach Mango iced tea and champagne) served with frozen peaches. For snacks I had blueberry scones, croissants, caprese skewers, spinach and artichoke dip bites and cucumber sandwiches.
We had so much fun that my friends suggested we turn girls crafternoon into a monthly occurrence!

I love these tips, and also, I was wondering where did you get that champagne bottle? It is so pretty! I’m looking for one like that:)

Thanks Dina! It was a gift so I’m not sure where it’s from but I looked at the label and the brand is Segura Viudas. I love the bottle too! I’ve had it for a couple years and hadn’t wanted to open it because it’s so beautiful!

Sounds like a fun afternoon! I so agree with you . . . we let life get in the way and forget to take time for things we love to do. The Peach Mango Mimosa sounds delicious!
