Hello there, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Did you have any holiday parties this weekend? We wanted to do a big holiday party this year but just couldn’t find a weekend date to make it happen… everyone was just so busy! So instead of a big party we decided instead that we would throw a little happy hour party with a cocktail tasting contest! Yes and yes, this was so fun and soo easy to put together!
We all love to celebrate with some bubbly so I decided I would challenge our friends to come up with their best Prosecco cocktail recipe and we would make it into a contest! Here’s how it went: I sent out an invitation inviting some friends to a Cocktail Tasting Happy Hour Party and asked them to send me their favorite bubbly cocktail recipe.
When the guests arrived they took a ballot. (Sorry about ↓, you know I can’t resist a good pun! 😉 )
I prepared all of their recipes with Voveti Prosecco and labeled them. I’m the only one who knew which recipes were whose so I couldn’t vote in the contest, but that’s alright… I kind of liked being the secret keeper. 😉
After everyone had the opportunity to taste each cocktail, they filled out a ballot choosing their favorite cocktail candidate (that’s as political as this holiday happy hour got!) and runner-up.
I was so impressed with their amazing recipes (and creative names!)… they’re all going into our cocktail recipe rotation for sure!
We had Rosemary-Cran Bellinis, Bomb Pop Fizz Fizzes, Pom Poms, Creamsicle Mimosas, Apple Cider Bellinis and Blackberry Pear Sparkles.
And the big winner was the Apple Cider Bellini, made with Voveti Prosecco, Chilled Apple Cider, a cinnamon/sugar rim and an apple slice!
Can you tell our winner was a little excited? 😉
The runner up was the Rosemary-Cran Bellini made with Voveti Prosecco, Cranberry Juice, a few frozen cranberries and a sprig of Rosemary.
And I have to give an honorable mention for creativity (for the recipe and the name!) to the Bomb Pop Fizz-Fizz. It’s Prosecco with a Bomb Pop popsicle. It was so fun how the flavor changed as the popsicle melted!
The winner received their own bottle of Voveti Prosecco to take home in a fun faux fur gift bag with a “Cheers” gift tag. )You can download the tag here to make if you have a Cricut). Voveti is really the perfect elegant Prosecco for entertaining and gift giving, yet also affordable for everyday pairing. I love the exclusivity of it too; there are only 15,000 cases produced annually! That was a fun topic at the cocktail tasting party. 😉
Which of these recipes would you most want to try? If you’d like to host a Cocktail Tasting Happy Hour, here are a printable invitation and printable ballots for you. The only condition for using them is that I want to hear about your cocktail tasting party and see pics. 😉
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of CLEVER and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
