Make this easy Christmas Hat and Scarf DIY Wine Stopper to dress up a wine bottle gift… perfect for a hostess gift or any holiday gift!
Hello, friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! I’ve come to a realization over the last few weeks that I’m not going to be doing much holiday crafting or decorating this year. With getting ready for baby and my motivation lacking (to say the least) I’ve finally accepted it and it will be ok! 🙂 I do have a few projects in store but for the kickoff to the holiday season I wanted to share this fun gift idea that I created last year for the Darice blog.
I love a good DIY wine stopper… it takes the standard bottle of wine gift to the next level! These ones are one my favorites I’ve made because they were soooo easy! They make a great holiday gift and hostess gift idea.
Christmas Hat and Scarf DIY Wine Stopper Gift Idea
Supplies
- Darice Hat with Scarf Set
- Darice 1 1/16″ Cork
- Mini Glue Gun
- Red Thread and Needle (optional)
Directions
Stretch out the base of the knit hat a little bit with your fingers so that it fits snugly around the top of the cork.
Lift the hat up in small sections and apply a band of hot glue around the top rim of the cork and reposition the hat over the glue. Be careful not to burn yourself when you reposition the hat. Allow to dry.
Now here’s where the cuteness level goes up another notch… tie the knit scarf around the neck of the wine bottle.
No need for a gift bag for this wine, it’s too cute to hide, don’t you think?! I ran some red thread through the knit hat wine stopper so that I could tie it around the neck of the bottle (it can be easily cut off when the gift recipient is ready to use it).
Silly easy, right?! They’re also so quick to make that you can throw a DIY wine bottle gift together even for that last minute party invite.
