So you probably know by now that I love fall. I love the decor, football, comfort food, sweaters, the changing leaves… love it! There is something about fall that I don’t love, however; the increasingly shorter days and the dark mornings. I definitely don’t love that, especially because something that I love even more than fall is SLEEP! Waking up to the kind of dark that feels like it’s midnight is just wrong, are you with me? As the mornings are getting progressively darker, it’s time for some creative problem solving to cut time from my morning beauty routine.
WAYS TO SIMPLIFY (AND SHORTEN!) YOUR MORNING BEAUTY ROUTINE
The time savings noted are specific to my beauty routine, your’s may vary slightly.
1. ALTERNATE HAIR WASHING AND SHAVING DAYS
TIME SAVED: 20 MINUTES (average of the 2 tasks, including dry time for hair)
2. ON SHAVING DAYS, USE A RAZOR WITH BUILT IN SHAVE CREAM
TIME SAVED: 3 MINUTES
3. ON HAIR WASHING DAYS, USE A VENTED CERAMIC BRUSH WHILE DRYING YOUR HAIR
The ceramic heats quickly and the vents speed up dry time.
TIME SAVED: 5 MINUTES
4. ON THE DAYS YOU DON’T WASH YOUR HAIR, USE DRY SHAMPOO THE NIGHT BEFORE AT BEDTIME
This will allow it to absorb oil while you sleep, rather than waiting for it to do its job in the morning which holds up your hair styling. Wearing a terrycloth headband overnight right at the hair line will help further the oil absorption (for me the hair line is the only area that my hair has any oil).
TIME SAVED: 5 MINUTES
5. USE AN EXFOLIATING FACIAL CLEANSER
No need to spend time using a separate cleanser and exfoliator!
TIME SAVED: 2 MINUTES
6. CUT DOWN ON MOISTURIZING TIME
I forgot, there’s another thing I don’t like about fall: dry, itchy skin! Well last week during one of my weekly strolls through Target I picked up some Jergen’s Wet Skin Moisturizer. Have you guys tried this yet? Oh em gee(nius!) We all know that the best time to moisturize is while skin is still damp to seal in max hydration. Well forget about damp, you actually apply this product while your skin is still WET! It is super quick to apply, absorbs instantly and literally left my skin soft until my shower the next morning. The luminosity it left behind was pretty stunning too (highlight on fleek, haha! 😉 ). I kept making Ryan smell, touch and look at my arm after I tried it for the first time (he was a good sport)! It’s no rinse so I turn off the shower, apply to my skin while its still wet, pat dry and DONE! No vigorous rubbing to get all of the lotion to absorb or waiting to dress because you still feel greasy and sticky from lotion residue.
TIME SAVED: 5 MINUTES
7. USE MULTI-TASKING PRODUCTS
• I’m a huge fan of BB creams. Many of them have skincare benefits in addition to their full time jobs as amazing primers and complexion perfectors.
• There are several eye creams on the market now that have color and light reflecting properties. Some of them provide enough coverage that you skip your concealer step.
• A great neutral pink cream lipstick can be used as a blush on the fly by blending a little onto the apples of the cheeks with your fingertips.
TIME SAVED: 5 MINUTES
Ready to have your mind blown?! We just shaved about 45 minutes off of your morning beauty routine! That equates to 5 extra alarm snoozes (arguably one of the sweetest joys around). You’re welcome. 😉
Do you have any morning time saving tips? Do you think you’ll give any of these ones a try? By the way, you can pick up Jergen’s Wet Skin Moisturizer in store at Target for 5% off right now through Cartwheel. Bonus!

Looking forward to trying the Jergens wet skin moisturizer since my least favorite task in the morning is putting on body lotion, and it’s often forgotten. Can’t wait to save some time in the shower! Great find! I also love the Jergens natural glow face moisturizer! Never forget this step… Love the results of my natural tan, while also moisturizing. I’m Diggin the quick step and multi purpose products!

Great tips! I can’t wait to try the in shower moisturizer! I’ve been using the spray lotion to save time but I bet this is even faster!
Lydia says
You will love it Bobbi! Yes, it is faster than the spray and also much more hydrating! Enjoy! 😉

Loved your post! I’d love to try the Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer … right now I use baby oil on a wet wash cloth to dry off which can be greasy! I love Jergen’s self tanner so I’m anxious to try this. I never heard of it before so its new to me.
Also loved your idea of putting dry shampoo on the night before. Great tip because sometimes it leaves a white residue.
Thanks again.

Okay, I can totally get on board with 45 minutes shaved off my morning routine! That’s amazing – I am very guilty of hitting the snooze button way too often, but maybe with some of these tricks, I can get out of the house on time! #client
