Hi there! I hope you enjoyed a beautiful Spring weekend! We’re just 3 weeks out from Mother’s Day, and I’m already looking forward to spending time with my mom! Do you ever get the answer, “Nothing”, when you ask your mom what she might want for a Mother’s Day gift? Or, “just to spend time with you”? Yep, me too! I try to think of gifts for my mom that she would never buy for herself. If you’re in the same boat, these are some gift ideas for moms and grandmothers that will help to make their day even more special.
A Day of Her Favorites
What are her favorite things? Her favorite breakfast? Her favorite lunch? Dinner? Game? Hobby? Give her a day filled with all of these! Make (or take) her favorite meals, play her favorite game with her, or join her for an afternoon enjoying her favorite hobby or activity. The gift of time is priceless. Especially to a mom.
Need some recipe ideas for her? A day filled with these mouthwatering meals would be sure to make her day!
Baked Blueberry Lemon French Toast Damn Delicious • Caprese Salad with Garlic Balsamic Dressing Lauren’s Latest • Bruschetta Stuffed Chicken The Complete Savorist
Display Her Favorite Memories
There are so many ways to transform photos and memories into gifts now. Personalized photo books, coffee mugs, totes… pretty much anything that has a surface can house a memory. These are super creative ways to preserve memories for her.
This beautiful “I Love You to the Moon and Back” print from Minted comes in a variety of sizes, framed or unframed and will showcase many pictures for her to enjoy on her wall. This Shutterfy idea will free up some room on her fridge. Upload children’s art onto their website and she can display her kids’ or grandkids’ masterpieces on canvas. Another Shutterfly winner, she can see her Grandkids’ smiling faces whenever she pulls out her phone with a custom phone case.
Spa at Home
Who doesn’t love a little spa pampering?! With these DIY beauty treats, she can pamper herself anytime at home and think of your thoughtfulness while she does.
Lemon Ginger Lip Scrub • DIY Lavender Pillow Spray • DIY Lavender Lotion Bars
Garden Time
Every year on Mother’s Day, my mom and I venture out to the local garden centers and get our annuals that we will plant for that year (her’s are my Mother’s Day gift to her). This is such a wonderful tradition we have established that we look forward to every year.
This beautiful personalized Galvanized Metal Planter from Personalization Mall would make a lovely gift to house her flowers.
A Day at the Salon
A trip to the nail salon is a treat that I know my mom enjoys but does not do for herself. It would be quite a treat to have a lovely lunch followed by some spa spoiling (bonus for you too!) There are often amazing spa packages to be found on Groupon.
Local Fun
I’m always amazed at the amount of local activities that are out there when you really look for them!
Groupon is a great resource to find fun, local activities that you might never have known were options. You might see kayaking excursions, painting classes at local restaurants along side of dinner, home and garden decorator tours, kayaking, wine tasting, makeup classes… many of which would make for fun Mother’s Day festivities.
Have you decided yet what to do or get for a mom in your life? Or if you’re a mom, what would you enjoy? If you’re looking for more Mother’s Day gift inspiration, check out these fun DIY Mother’s Day gift ideas!

Great suggestions. Especially love ones that are annual traditions like shopping for your annual fllowers together!
