Hello! I hope you, (especially moms), had a wonderful Mother’s Day. My mom and I had our annual flower and plant shopping extravaganza and it was a perfect day. Now I have a LOT of planting to do!
Now that Mother’s Day is over, the gift shopping for many of us shifts to finding the perfect graduation gifts. Last week I got a Facebook invite to my cousin’s son’s graduation party, I can’t even believe it! I officially feel old. And I feel even older for saying I feel old. I used to think only old people said that. Is that true? Anyway, age crisis aside, the season is officially upon us… here are some great graduation gift ideas for the next graduates in your life!
College Gear
If the grad is off to college, some gear from their future school
is sure to get good use. When I started at Ohio State (could you guess that’s where I went? 😉 ), I couldn’t get my hands on enough Buckeye gear and I lived in it, especially my 1st year!
Laundry Supplies
A laundry basket chock full of laundry goodies, towels, a lint roller and quarters from Darling Doodles is a great gift idea to transition the grad to the land of grown ups. And certainly there is nothing worse than going to the laundromat and underestimating your quarter needs! This printable stain removal cheat sheet from Mom 4 Real would be great to toss in as well; it would be catastrophic to ruin their new college threads with improper laundry practices.
Cash!
Every grad appreciates cash, and what a cute way to present it, in a graduation cap topped mason jar full of dollar “diplomas” as crafted by No Biggie.
Mattress Topper
It’s a toss up whether college onset back problems arise from the heavy backpacks or from the horribly uncomfortable dorm beds. This memory foam mattress topper will at least alleviate one risk factor.
Caffeination
A Keurig or a K -Cup Variety Pack. Because college and coffee go together like peanut butter and jelly (also a common college staple!)
Stock the Food Shelves
Most graduates have never had to pay for their own groceries, so this laundry basket full of food cupboard staples from How Does She is brilliant!
Gift Cards
Gift cards are a nice option to leave the choice to the graduate:
Everyone loves an Amazon gift card since they have everything and the kitchen sink.
Starbucks. See above coffee explanation.
A Costco Membership would be a great gift for the grad moving in with roommates.
iTunes has more than the most massive music collection; the grad can also find the modern day equivalents to tutors and professor’s office hours via clever education apps available for purchase with their iTunes gift card.
Spafinder is an awesome concept; the gift cards can be used at thousands of salons and spas nationwide. Any grad would love a nice spa treat to unwind pre or post finals, or to alleviate the aforementioned backpack induced back pain.
A College Bookstore gift card. If the grad is college bound, they can opt to use the gift card for text books, or even MORE collegiate attire! The university bookstores have school supplies, back packs, and many more college necessities.
Backup Phone Chargers
Is it me or do cell phone chargers consistently grow legs or stop working with regularity? Great idea to give the grad a couple back ups!
Do you remember what your favorite graduation gift was?
Have a great week, and thanks for reading!
