Hello there! I hope you’re enjoying the holidays and partaking in bountiful festivities! This time of year is so much fun once we slow down to enjoy the season, each other and of course delicious food and drink! The spirit of celebration calls for bubbly, don’t you agree? From the sound of the bottle popping, the fizz of the Prosecco pouring, to the clinking of glasses, all of these sounds embody the spirit of celebration! With many bubbles about to commence, I created these ornament DIY cocktail stirrers to sit in my glasses of Santa Margherita Prosecco.
It’s a good thing we got Chinese takeout the other night as it inspired the idea… the DIY Cocktail Stirrers are made out of chopsticks and mini ornaments.
Let’s make you some! 😉
Festive Ornament DIY Cocktail Stirrers
Supplies
- Chopsticks
- Mini ornaments
- Metallic gold paint
- Food safe sealer
- Wire cutters
Directions
If needed, shorten the chopsticks with wire cutters (my glasses are somewhat short so I had to do this step).
Pop the metal top off of ornaments and cut off the tip with wire cutters.
Paint chopstick and ornament tops with 2 coats metallic gold paint. Allow to dry for 30 minutes between coats. I poked some shallow holes in a box in order to stand the chopsticks upright for easy and even painting. After paint is dry, apply food-safe sealer to chopsticks. If planning to use stirrers in contact with drinks, sealer MUST cure for 30 days in order to be deemed food-safe. If they will just be decorative, there is no need to cure.
Slide the ornament top onto the tapered end of the chopstick and then insert chopstick into ornament base.
And it’s that easy! These cocktail stirrers are just screaming to get into a glass of Prosecco!
This tray stocked with Santa Margherita Prosecco, stemless champagne glasses and the DIY cocktail stirrers makes a festive presentation for holiday entertaining or just to have sitting on your bar cart any day of the week.
Santa Margherita Prosecco is already an elegant, high quality wine and when paired with these ornament DIY cocktail stirrers and some pomegranate seeds in the Prosecco, you have yourself the makings of a lovely holiday gathering! I immediately envisioned toasting with a glass of Prosecco and these cocktail stirrers on New Year’s Eve.
If you aren’t personally entertaining this season, think about taking a bottle of Santa Margherita Prosecco and a set of these stirrers as a hostess gift. The hostess will love that you created something just for her/him and appreciate that you brought a bottle of delicious wine to enjoy!
