Directions for King of the Grill Spatula
For this design I used the Permanent Smart Vinyl in Tomato Red and Gold.
Click “Make It” and select your load type and material. I used the Smart Vinyl so no cutting mat was needed but of course you can use a mat as well.
Load your material and cut the images by clicking GO.
Weed away the negative space and press transfer tape onto all pieces. Peel the liner away from the vinyl and apply the transfer tape onto the handle of the grill spatula. Peel away the transfer tape from the spatula.
Directions for Grill Oven Mitt
Open the BBQ gifts for him cut file in Cricut Design Space and make any customizations you’d like.
*Notice that outline of an oven mitt? Design Space has a ton of templates to make sizing your projects a breeze. You can find them on the upper left side (the pic with the t-shirt). There are templates ranging from tree skirts to laptop decals to backpacks and everything in between. It’s a super helpful feature!
Click “Make It” and select your load type. Remember to mirror your image for iron on. Place the liner side (shiny) down and cut.
Peel away the material from the negative space around the design and weed material inside of letters. Position the design with the liner side up on the oven mitt.
I used a polyester oven mitt so according to EasyPress heat guide, set the EasyPress temperature to 315º F and press with light pressure for 30 seconds. Allow to cool completely before peeling away liner. If the design starts to lift as you pull back the liner, try pressing for another 10 – 15 seconds. Once the liner is removed, flip the mitt over and press for 15 seconds.
Directions for Grill Seasoning Gift Label
Open the BBQ gifts for him cut file in Cricut Design Space and make any customizations you’d like. In order to get the curved text for a round label, click on Curve (see below) and adjust the size and curve of the text to fit your BBQ seasoning label.
Load your material and cut the images by clicking GO. There is one chamber on the Cricut Joy so the app will guide you as to when to insert the pen and fine point blade.
Weed away the negative space and press transfer tape onto all pieces except for the base of the grill and layer each element of the design onto the grill. If you aren’t familiar with the layered vinyl transfer tape method, you can find the detailed instructions here.
Apply transfer tape to the entire layered design and apply to the center of the BBQ seasoning label (make sure to give the writing on the label plenty of time to dry so it doesn’t get smudged). Gently peel away the transfer tape.
Any of these homemade grilling gift ideas would be great on their own, or throw them in a basket to make a darling DIY BBQ gift set.
