You don’t have to have a grand entryway or a big foyer to bring some cozy into your Christmas entryway! Make sure to check out all of my friends hopping with me today as a part of the Come Home for Christmas tour hosted by my friends Vicki and Jenn from 2 Bees and a Pod.
Hello friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend! First of all, if you’re here visiting from another blog, WELCOME! I’m so excited you’re here! If you’re here on the regular, of course I’m excited that you’re here too!
Did you do any holiday decorating this weekend? I always have grand intentions to finish my Christmas decorating by Thanksgiving which thus far has never come to fruition. Believe it or not, in blog land that’s waaaay late! While I have some decor done in most rooms, the only place complete is the entry. Our Christmas entryway decor is always my favorite to do… it’s the first thing anyone sees when they come in the door and it’s visible from the living room so I get to enjoy it too.
Every year I change up the Christmas entryway decor but buffalo check always manages to make an appearance and this year, it’s pretty much the star. Whether it happens to be hot or not, I love it just the same.
I love that the majority of my Christmas entryway decorations are thrifted or flea market finds… the flower box, the window, the sleds (the big one and the mini in the flower box), the gloves… these pieces, along with the Buffalo Check Monogram I made, come together to make my Christmas entryway uniquely mine. Repurposing thrift store finds or elements found in nature mixed with pieces you’ve purchased (like these bells that I love!) is a great way to achieve your very own magazine-worthy decor that you will never spy in any magazine because it’s uniquely yours.
Another one of my favorite ways to bring a cozy feel to your Christmas entryway decor, or any decor for that matter, is to add a lot of texture variation. Within the chippy flower box alone I have a lot of texture variation… the sharp greenery, rusted bells, vintage splintered wood sled, the box itself, etc. I also love to add some softness through fabric like I did with the flannel buffalo check tree “skirt” here.
Check out my other friends sharing their inspiring entryways today and check back to see many more beautiful rooms for a ton of holiday decor inspiration.

I love all of your thrifted treasures! And the buffalo check is always so perfectly “Christmasy”. I’ve been planning my decor for weeks but the implementation has been the slow part for some reason. I better hurry so I can have time to enjoy it!
Lydia says
Thanks so much, Sarah! I’m the EXACT same way! I’m hoping to get the rest done this weekend! 🙂

Beautiful job! I don’t have my living room decorating done yet either, so don’t feel bad, but it is funny how that is considered so late in blogland. Also, are those bells on the table? I’ve never seen anything like them and I love them!
Sarah says
Your buffalo check is perfection and that sled is beyond adorable!! Beautifully done!!❤️😃
Lydia says
Aw thanks so much sweet Sarah! xo

I love the buffalo check! It looks perfect. Where did you find your ‘Believe’ sign in the background? I’m a big fan of making signs, but sometimes, it’s nice to find something already done! 🙂
Lydia says
Thanks so much Brittany! I actually just found it at a new store that opened in Columbus called Gabe’s. I stumbled across it on Black Friday and found the sign for 15 bucks!
Bliss says
