Black and white Christmas tree

I am so excited to be a part of Tree Classics Twelve Days of Christmas this year! This is my 4th Christmas as a blogger and the first time that you’re seeing my Christmas tree. Kinda crazy for someone with a home and DIY tab on their blog, right?

Tree Classics Twelve Days of Christmas

The primary reason I’ve never shared a Christmas tree is that I’ve never had a tree I really loved. Our last tree had fewer and fewer working lights every year we pulled it out and trying to remember which lights plugged into which cords was a maddening process. I can say by far that my Deluxe Noble Fir Snap Tree is my favorite Christmas tree ever. I love it’s slightly droopy branches and real feel needles, even when Ryan (hubs) was helping me fluff it he commented how real it looks and feels… that’s saying a lot considering he’s always been #teamrealtree.

Ryan and I have always had different feelings in the Christmas tree department… he likes real, I  go for artificial; he likes colored lights, I like clear. Once we discovered Scentsicles he was down with the artificial trees… it was the smell he loved most about real trees, not the mess and maintenance. So… one battle down. On to the lights. I couldn’t believe that the Deluxe Noble Fir Snap Tree can alternate between clear and colored lights… there are 3 settings, clear/color flashing, clear or color.

Putting the tree together took just minutes with the snap tree system (you can check out the details and a video here) and there are no light cords to connect other than the one that goes into the outlet. Even the top just pops on and connects to the power in the base of the tree. Crazy, right?

For the decorations, integrating trend elements into a Christmas tree doesn’t require a whole new tree with every trend. Flocking is all the rage at the moment, but I don’t want to flock my whole tree because chances are I would tire of it and there’s really no turning back on flocking. I do love the look though, so I incorporated flocked fir stems with pine cones and sugared berries. It perfectly satisfied my flocking craving. I just slid them in between branches and stuck the stem into a light cord.

While I decided to go with a black and white tree this year, I can nver forego some red in my Christmas decor. These Winter Delight Classic Red Finials really add an elegant and festive feel to the black and white Christmas tree.

I cut some pieces of white ribbon for ornament hangers.

This sweet Silent Night Angel Tree Topper really upped the glam factor on my Christmas tree.

The Quilted Velvet Tree Skirt is so plush and gorgeous… it took me forever to get a picture of it because my cat has decided it’s her bed. 🙂

I’m so thrilled to have a tree that I love this year… and I’m also thrilled that I blogged about it because it forced me to get some early wrapping done. 😉

Your tree is beautiful, Lydi! I love that you can alternate yours between clear and colored lights! My hubs converted me to #teamrealtree and while I do love them, cleaning it up & getting it out of the house at the end of the season is such a chore.

Lydi, your tree looks amazing!! I love the black, white and red mix. I’m definitely on your side when it comes to your different feelings about Christmas decor with the hubs, BUT, I’m way impressed that you got him to help you fluff the tree, so major props to him!

Thanks so much Lory, what a huge compliment coming from you! True story… hubs helped me fluff but of course you know I went back over it and “tweaked”. Haha! I gave him your props though… positive reinforcement and all. 😉 Merry Christmas!!!

What a beautiful tree! It’s symmetrical and appears to have nice full branches. The dangling red ornaments and flocked greens
are a definite plus. And who could argue with 2 choices of lights? I’m sold! Thanks Lydi!
