Hi, I hope you all had a great weekend! So, I’ll be honest, I have not EVER done any type of decorating for Valentine’s Day. But I’ll tell you, since I started with my holiday decor transformations back in the Fall, I have made it a challenge to myself to continue to reuse these same decorations for each holiday.
So here we go! What to do for Valentine’s Day?! I decided to keep the Valentine’s decor simply stated, omitting some of the decor that you saw transitioned for Christmas in holiday decor part 1 and part 2.
DIY Valentine’s Day Wreath
My DIY wreath was up first to dress up in love! This transition was super easy, as I kept the red glitter “N” monogram from the Christmas wreath. Then all that was left to do was to remove the berries and greenery from Christmas and add the red glitter hearts and the Valentine’s clothes pin style clips from Michael’s to hold on to the Valentine’s ribbon I weaved throug
I used simple sheer red ribbon to make the wreath hanger for this one (check out my ribbon wreath hanger tutorial here). Since this ribbon doesn’t have wire, some of the loops wanted to droop, so I gave them a good spray of starch and they returned to their more rounded shape.
Valentine’s Decor Centerpiece
You have seen these crackled glass hurricanes filled with all kinds of stuff at this point! To make them in to Valentine’s Decor, I bought a few bags of conversation hearts and poured them into the hurricanes for a Valentine’s centerpiece.
Valentine’s Moss Topiaries
For the moss topiaries that adorn the ends of my mantle, I just tossed a handful of hearts in the base of each to lay on the bed of moss. You can find the topiary tutorial on Liz Marie Blog.
Valentine’s Bookshelf Decor
I kept my boxwood topiary very simple. I added some leftover conversation hearts from the centerpiece and moss topiaries, and tied leftover ribbon from the wreath around the top of the base. This was the only decoration on the bookshelf that I dressed up with Valentine’s decor.
Whew, this one was pretty easy! Aaand that will be a wrap on holiday decor transformations until Spring. Sorry, that means in case you are wondering, I will not be decorating any of the above with coins or bills in honor of President’s Day. 😉
Do you do guys do any kind of Valentine’s decor? What decorations do you use?
