My Watermelon Mint Vodka Gimlet Recipe is sponsored by Master of Mixes. As always, the ideas and opinions shared are all mine.
Hello friends! If you’re a regular friend here you probably know by now that I’m a fan of a tasty libation. As a fan, I’m embarrassed to admit that I only recently discovered that a gimlet can be made with vodka as opposed to gin (a fan of gin I am not). Once I discovered this, a gimlet has risen into my top 5 favorite cocktails and this Watermelon Mint Vodka Gimlet is currently coming in at #1.
After discovering my newfound appreciation of the classic gimlet cocktail, I decided to give it some summer flair by mixing it with Master of Mixes Watermelon Daiquiri/Margarita Mixer and some fresh garden mint. Watermelon and mint go together like peanut butter and jelly in my book and since Master of Mixes mixers (say that 5 times fast!) are made with real fruit, taking a sip of this Watermelon Mint Vodka Gimlet feels like taking that first juicy bite of watermelon when it comes into season. Not only is the fruit in Master of Mixes real, it’s picked at the peak of ripeness so when this combo of watermelon/mint/lime come together, the most perfect explosion of flavor ensues.

Watermelon Mint Vodka Gimlet
Ingredients
- 2 oz. Master of Mixes Watermelon Daiquiri/Margarita Mixer
- 1 oz. fresh lime juice
- 3 oz. vodka
- Bunch fresh mint
- Frozen watermelon balls and mint sprigs for garnish optional but highly recommended!
Instructions
- Using a melon baller, scoop at least 4 balls of watermelon, skewer 2 watermelon balls each on 2 cocktail picks and place in an ice cube tray. Freeze for 1 ½ - 2 hours.
- Add 5 - 6 mint leaves to a cocktail shaker and muddle to release the oils for maximum flavor. Add Master of Mixes Watermelon Daiquiri/Margarita Mixer, lime juice and vodka to the shaker and fill with ice. Shake well for about 30 seconds.
- Pour into ice-filled glasses. Garnish with frozen watermelon balls and a sprig of mint.
How’s that for a sip into summer?! I love experimenting with cocktail recipes with Master of Mixes mixers… there are over 45 flavors (including light options) and these one-step mixers be used in countless ways. If I had taken the daiquiri/margarita mixer label on the mixer only literally, I would never have discovered this Watermelon Mint Vodka Gimlet.
What are some of your favorite cocktail recipes and how could you flip them upside down (which is sooooo right side up!) with a mixer? If you like the idea and need some more inspiration, there are a ton of recipes at MixologyPro.com. They have an in-house mixologist (Dean) and he spends his days developing recipes with Master of Mixes products. How fun does his job sound?! You can also visit Master of Mixes on Facebook and Instagram for more cocktail inspiration.
Happy sipping!
