I dropped a teaser about these Halloween Wine Charms on my Instagram last week when sharing my Halloween Boos Sign I did for the DecoArt Blog. So here they are! These wine glass charms are both spooky and glam with their extreme sheen metallic finish and make a fun addition to a Halloween party.
Hi friends, I hope you had a wonderful first weekend of fall! It didn’t feel much like fall in Ohio considering temps were 90 degrees plus. ?? One of my favorite things about fall is perusing the dollar store and Target dollar bins to look for fun goodies to put in our neighbor’s boo baskets. P.S. If your neighborhood doesn’t have the BOO tradition, get the details here, it is SO fun!
That was the original intention for these spider rings that I found at Dollar Tree, I thought the neighborhood kids would have fun with them. Silly plastic rings were what I always begged my mom to buy me out of the gum ball machine as we exited the grocery store. Is that even a thing anymore? Now that I mention it I can’t remember seeing them in the store anymore… but maybe that’s just because I don’t want anything out of them.
Anyway, after setting up my Halloween Bar, I was brainstorming something I could use/make for Halloween wine charms and I realized that the spider rings would be perfect… all they needed was a little bling in the form of metallic paint to make them party ready.
Spider Halloween Wine Charms
Supplies
- Spider rings (with open backs)
- DecoArt Extreme Sheen in Sapphire, Amethyst, Tourmaline, Silver, Aquamarine, and Tin
- Fine point paint brush
- Aluminum foil
Directions
Ensure that rings are free of dirt and dust.
With a small paint brush, apply extreme sheen paint in various colors to Halloween wine charms. The color of the rings will determine if you need 1 or 2 coats of paint.
Tip: Set on a piece of aluminum foil to dry, they won’t stick!
And that’s it! Easiest Halloween craft EV.ER. Let party guests pick their poison(ous) spider and if you’d like you can even make extras to give as party favors!
You can get the Cricut cut file for my “Pick Your Poison” sign here if you’d like to use it. I simply cut a piece of scrapbook paper to slip into the frame (I used a 5″ x 7″ frame), then cut the letters out of orange card stock with my Cricut Maker, made them into stickers with my Xyron and affixed them to the front of the frame. Appropriate display for spiders, right?
Do you like to decorate/craft for Halloween? Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing more spooky fun each week leading up to 10/31! Have a great week and thank you so much for being here!
