Good Monday morning! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I started bringing out some of my Christmas decorations over the weekend (it will be in stages because I just can’t quite bring myself to have the tree up before Thanksgiving). Every year I pull out the decorations it never fails that there’s at least 1 that I forget about and then get so excited about it all over again. I guess there are some advantages to having the worst memory ever. 😉
Something I always love pulling out of the decorations that really gets me in the Christmas mood is my basket of cinnamon pine cones. Except that when they’ve been in a bin in the crawl space for almost a year, they’re not so cinnamon anymore.
I’ve found the solution and have made it into a gift idea that’s perfect for a hostess or holiday gift. Using Nature’s Truth Cinnamon Essential Oil, I made a wonderful spray I call Christmas in a Bottle because that’s what is smells like to me! You know I love my essential oils in sugar scrubs and linen spray and I’m loving them in this warm and cozy spray! It’s super easy to make, and I’m even sharing my printable label and gift card insert!
“Christmas in a Bottle” Cinnamon Pine Cone Spray
Ingredients
- Pine cones
- ¾ cup of distilled water
- About a half cap full (or 6 – 7 drops) of Nature’s Truth Cinnamon Essential Oil
- Spray bottle (I use empty body spray bottles)
Directions
- Add ¾ cup of distilled water into a spray bottle and add essential oil, mix well.
- Shake well before each use.
Place Cinnamon Pine Cones, Christmas in a Bottle spray and gift set insert into a festive basket for an adorable (and wonderful smelling!) gift! Bonus points for some pine branches if you can get your hands on any. 😉
Another of my favorite ways to use essential oils is with a diffuser, it’s such a cozy and relaxing feeling to have wonderful smells permeating the air with a steady stream of scent!

I know some people don’t like them, but I am one of those people who loves the cinnamon pine cones in stores this time of the year. They make me so happy! I don’t know why I never thought to make my own cinnamon scented spray 😉

I love them too Emily! The smell just makes me feel so cozy!

We just got our first diffuser and mini starter kit of essential oils a couple weeks ago and I have been loving it! I need to make a trip to Target to check out what they have in the store and all of the Christmas decorations too. I have been using the lavender in our diffuser at night when we go to bed and I also made a spray for our pillows and blankets. I feel like I have had a more relaxed sleep since using it. Anthony has been snoring away too so he is obviously benefiting from it as well!
Lydia says
Hahaha!! Yes I love lavender too, I use it in pillow spray but need to do it in the diffuser too! Ah yes the Christmas decorations at Target this year… heart eyes! #Targetdoesitagain !

What a great idea to refresh those Christmas pine cones! I love the scented pine cones, but they are always so expensive at the store. I’m totally making this spray this year to re-cinnamon-ize (that’s a real word, I promise) my pine cones. Thanks for sharing! #client

Thanks David! “Re-cinnamon-ize”! I love it and will absolutely be using that! 😉
