Create a beautiful Acorn Fall Shadowbox to complement any autumn decor!

Happy hump day my friends! I hope you’re having a great week so far! I’ve been in full on fall crafting mode over here and I’m OBSESSED with all of the gorgeous fall projects and images in Cricut’s Design Space!
I love the simplicity of this project and it was made even simpler with the amazing new Cricut Martha Stewart Premium Vinyl. It’s so easy to handle because it lies flat and is virtually effortless to weed. I already have such a fun idea for transforming this shadowbox for Christmas (stay tuned for that one in the coming months!) The Premium Vinyl will peel off easily with no residue when I’m ready to switch up my fall acorn shadowbox (even if that’s not for 2 years!)
I used my Cricut Martha Machine (available exclusively at Michael’s) for my fall shadowbox vinyl designs and after I finished, I thought it would have been cool to make paper acorns cut with the Cricut Martha Machine! It can cut over 100 materials so it would have been a breeze. Oh well, next time! 😉 There are 25 exclusive Martha Stewart images that came with the machine so I’ll find my next project easy. For now, let’s make this cute fall shadowbox sign!
Acorn Fall Shadowbox with Cricut Vinyl
Supplies
- Nuts for Fall cut file
- Cricut® Explore Air™ 2 Special Edition, Martha Stewart Machine Bundle
- Martha Stewart Premium Vinyl in Matte Gold
- Cricut Premium Removable Vinyl in Coffee
- Cricut Transfer Tape
- Cricut Felt Sky Sampler (I used the Green)
- 9″ x 9″ shadowbox frame
- Acorns (faux or real)
Directions
Open the Nuts for Fall cut file in Cricut Design Space. Customize the image to the size and colors you’d like.
Turn the knob on the Cricut Martha Machine to Vinyl and cut designs.
Peel away the vinyl surrounding the design and weed the details with the weeder tool.
Apply Transfer Tape over the images and press thoroughly. Peel back the lining and affix the images on the transfer tape onto the front of the shadowbox, pressing thoroughly to make sure to leave the design behind. Peel away transfer tape.
Cut the felt to fit the back of the shadowbox and attach onto the back of the frame. Place the acorns in the shadowbox and reattach the back of the frame. Display and enjoy!
Does this fun project make you ready to go nuts for fall? I’m so sorry guys, I can never resist a pun. Never. 😉
