Hi there! Did you happen to catch the sneak peak of my planner clips on the Cricut blog? So here’s a little known fact about me… I am obsessed with owls (the cute ones, not the spooky ones). Another fact… I find crossing things off of a to-do list to be one of the most satisfying things ever. That’s one of the reasons I’ve always been a physical planner kinda gal. Clicking the check mark in a task list app is not nearly as gratifying, you know?
So you can imagine my excitement when the planner craze broke out, I feel understood! My paper planner obsession has been recognized and reciprocated by other planner girls! Have you seen the FB page Planners Gone Wild? Those are my people! 😉
I’m also so loving all of the fun planner accessories that are around, but they can be a little pricey so I’ve been playing around with making my own and these DIY planner clips were my first ones.
These adorable owl planner clips satisfy my love of owls, of planner accessories and give me my bit of Valentine’s Day decor for the season. Check check and check!
Here’s all you need to make your own DIY planner clips:
- Cricut machine
- Cutting mat
- Printable vinyl
- Pink poster board
- Craft adhesive
- Owl and Heart images (or what ever images you’d like to use)
- Paper clips
Upload the images you’d like to use for your DIY planner clips from your computer into Design Space.
Select the areas to erase from images.
Save as print then cut.
Adjust to size. Print then cut on printable vinyl.
Cut shapes again out of poster board.
Remove backing from printable vinyl and attach to the poster board. Coat with 2 thin coats of decoupage for protection.
Attach to paper clips with craft adhesive and allow to dry for at least 1 hour.

Pin it for later!
